Rossendale welcomed Eccles to Marl Pits for this weekend’s fixture.
Eccles arrived with 7 players which was rather helpful as Rossendale had 7 players available. Coaches agreed 7 a side - roughly 10min each way.
Rossendale team for the day consisted of -
Alfie, Freddie, Theo, George, Tom, Rory and new boy Owen.
The guys picked up where they left off last week with Tags grabbed at every opportunity and Tries scored at regular intervals. All players contributed to a fine victory, Tries coming from throughout the team with new boy Owen giving a good account of himself for his first match.
Some great awareness was demonstrated again with the guys looking for space, especially noted for a couple of our Tries, where after the Eccles defence was dragged over to one side of the pitch, we struck out for the try line at the opposite corner.
We have to watch out for bunching up ourselves, especially at restarts - as I think the Eccles coach said after we had rattled in another Try - "Be less like bananas you lot and stop bunching"!
Well done everyone - a couple of weeks now of training before the next match so time to work on the core skills and learning how to be less like Bananas at restarts!
