The depleted Rossendale team lost heavily to LSH on Sunday, but there were lots of positives to take from the game.

Rossendale could only field 5 players, but sportingly 2 of the LSH lads joined ‘Dale to make up a 7-a-side contest, so a big thank you to Jacob and Cameron. With only a minute on the clock, LSH broke away to score their first try, and then continued to dominate throughout the first half to close the half at 0-50.

After a shuffle round with Callum and Danny offering to play for Rossendale, a much more even half ensued with some good rugby skills on display from both sides. A try from Callum against his own team started the half, followed shortly by a great individual effort from Tom as he slipped a couple of tackles to score his try.

So the game ended 10 -60, but Rossendale will take some comfort in some gutsy performances from Ben, Tom, Niall and today’s captain Alex, but the plaudits really go to Rossendale’s Man of the Match for the second week in succession, Isaac, who put heart, soul and body into the game covering every blade of grass on the field, relentless tackling right to the end, and did all the basics very well. Well done Isaac.

Thanks to LSH for a game played in good spirits and for the loan of the players.
