The first half started very slowly for the Dale youngsters, with Bolton taking a 20 point lead within the first 10 minutes with 4 unanswered tries. But the fight back started, and Rossendale got out of first gear and started to play together as a team. Isaac Cornwall drove his way through for two tries to end the first half 20 – 10.
In a demonstration of strong forwards play Harry Brown got Dale off with a try early in the second half, followed by two more tries from Isaac Cornwall. Henry Wilby got his reward for continuous support play throughout the game with a try of his own and Tom Unsworth sealed the victory with the seventh try to leave the final score 20 – 35.
From an excellent overall team performance, the difficult decision for the Player of the Match this week was taken and given to Isaac Cornwall for total commitment, strong running and tackling and of course 4 tries.
