Rossendale 45 Duckinfield 10 - 21st November 2010

Come on the lads ! Our first win of the season and didn't they do well a really good team performance.
Thanks for Vinnie and the lads from Duckinfield for coming and playing with a good spirit and great manners from Vinny's lads. Another really good local team !
Rossenale passed the ball again and the team spirit could not be faulted. Great to see two new players get a try. Our new prop Shaun taking man and ball running straight scored a great try. Little Johnny was rejuvenated and even in the cold ran passed 5 players to score a very determined try. Oliver pinned his head-back and scored two great tries set up by some dogged defence. Really pleased that they listened at half time and started to tackle and not too many crabs.....Will scored 4 tries and slotted straight back in the team great performance. George continues to lead the team by example, scored an excellent try, won good ball and along with Derek and Shaun scrummaged really well. Duckinfield also battled really well in the scrum and great to see some good competitive srums. Will need to look at the line out next.... let's build on rucking and mauling as well.
Derek continues to show good upper body strength and pinched good ball for the team ripping at will.
After one training session Paddy played 40 mins and didn't he do well stopping a certain try in the corner and setting up good ball - a very well deserved man of the match...only supposed to have 5 minutes.
The team need to ask Santa for some thermals can I suggest thermal leggins, thermal base layers and socks and fingerless gloves. Before a game can we wear tracksuits, fleeces, hats and windproof tops we HAVE to keep warm....if you think this is cold wait till January! We can take layers off but there were too many cold players Sam, Danny and Ben ! Danny a much better week !
Thanks to all the parents for their support holding tackle bags, carrying equipment, washing kit, running the stop watch, taking photos and counting the players !!!!
Great turnout with 14 and two players who could not make it competition for places now!!
