Great tackling !

Rossendale travelled to Bury for the first joint training session of January and had a great morning out. All the training as Ian said really paid off and the tackling was awesome and defence was superb.

Bury were very gracious hosts and thanks to Steve and the boys for a well fought game and great pasta !

George opened the scoring making several runs in the first game and led the team very well playing a very high octane game winning good ball and playing a captain's role. He scored the opener and won opposition line out and then scored.

Oliver was the star try scorer today running at will from anywhere on the pitch with his dancing feet and terrific pace. It was either 4 or 5 tries (if only Dizzey could count) well done

However no ball and no tries can be scored without ball and Shaun and Paddy and the rest of the forwards showed great strength and determination. Shaun and Paddy made many huge hits however we have to start rucking if we are to make the most of them. Too many times we look at the ball and try to pick it up rather than driving as a unit and converting good ball.

Derek continued to hook well and the line out was succesful not only winning our ball but a lot of the opposition ball. The scrum was very strong and again we pinched several of the opposition's ball. Josh came on for George and again scrummaged very well and made an excellent run steam rolling a few palyers.

Danny and Johnny who are not the biggest in the team showed huge improvement and put in some excellent tackles - keep it up.

Bury were happy to play 10 a-side and played one of the Rossendale lads each game. Well done lads that came on for Bury your rugby is the winner mensions to Jonnny, Ben, Paddy and Nathan !

Unfortunately some foul play reduced the team to 9 players in one of the quarters with Will lashing out but he came back well in the last game and made some excellet runs and scored a try

Injuries kept Jude on the side for much of the game however he showed some good running and great strength ...keep it up

Callum continued to make great progress and made some good yards !

New recruit Ellis stole the show today with a man of the match performance nearly scoring twice. He showed an excellent turn of pace in the match and his passing at pace was remarkable for someone who has only just joined. A great performance and fantastic attitude well done!

Thanks to all the parents again for lifts and morale support we have a great group of parents and they are very supportive.

Hopefully we can keep the progress going well done to everyone.
