Rossendale U10’s lost 45–10 to a well drilled Bolton side.

Despite having an equal share of possession, the early superior teamwork of the Bolton team allowed them to build a commanding lead by scoring five unanswered tries by half time. Despite this there was some gallant defending from the Rossendale team, with Rowan Hopkinson, Captain Oliver Leah and Joe Bedlow making try saving tackles even after Bolton had crossed the try line.
In the second half, Rossendale continued to gain their fair share of possession. The lineout throwing of Finlay Wilbey consistently found Sam Ashworth in the line out, which provided quick ball for Rossendale to attack. Rossendale began to make better use of the ball, their support play improved and with the strong running of Nuri Stoner, Tyler Johnson and Jack Whittaker they began to put pressure on their opponents.
Rossendale were rewarded with two well executed tries, both of which were scored by Joe Bedlow. The first try was a fantastic solo effort almost the full length of the pitch following quick possession from a well taken lineout. The second try reflected the improved support play and direct running of the team with Joe Bedlow finishing off in the corner.
Despite a much improved second half performance Rossendale could not deny Bolton their victory.
