Rossendale vs. West Park St. Helens Sunday 30th October 2011

A well organised West Park St. Helens side proved too strong for the Rossendale Under 10’s on Sunday. Despite competing well and having their fair share of the ball, Rossendale were unable to make the most of their possession and found themselves down 5 tries to none at the close of the first half.
The second half was more evenly matched and Rossendale banked 15 points with only 10 in reply from West Park. Despite the final score line Rossendale can take away some positives from the encounter and showed they have the makings of a good side. Tyler Johnson and “Big” Sam Ashworth made good strong runs, off- loading well in the tackle and Ieuan Dwyfor-Jones dispossessed the opposition effectively at the breakdown.
It was Rossendale who provided the best move of the match when smart interplay between Joe Bedlow and Jack Whittaker allowed Jack to cross the try line in the final play of the match.
