KENDAL 17 ROSSENDALE 24
Rossendale's improvement continues and following a 17-24 win away at Kendal
They have over taken both Kendal and Ilkley to move into seventh place in the North Premier table. They do have two games in hand over most clubs in the table and three behind league leaders Preston Grasshoppers.
A catch and drive pulled down by the opposition on the line brought the opening score, the referee awarding a penaly try. Kendal hit back with a converted try to level matters at 7-7 but from a forward drive through mid-field, James Bramhall picked up at the back of the maul and with Lewis Allen providing the vital link Dominic Moon went over for the second, Allen's conversion restoring the visitors lead 7-14 at half time.
In the second period a fifteen metre drive was stopped at the posts but again good hands from Bramhall and Allen who put a neat grubber through for George Peel who took his opportunity with relish to add a third
With the visitors now on a roll and looking for the bonus score, a penalty to the corner and a catch and drive got Ryan McKibbin over for a trade mark score and the extra point.
Kendal did hit back in the closing stages and went over for a converted try to take a losing bonus point.
