Rossendale 30-7 Kirkby Lonsdale
By Paul Kilshaw
Rossendale continued their steady move up the table with a confident 30-7 bonus-point home victory against Kirkby Lonsdale at the Marl Pits.
The win leaves Dale seventh, with 61 points from 21 games, while Kirkby Lonsdale remains 10th in the National 3 North standings.
An unconverted try from openside flanker Phil Mills opened the scoring the hosts before tries from Lewis Pattison and Tom Allen along with a conversion and drop-goal from Lewis Allen give the hosts a dominant 20-0 lead at the break.
Lewis Allen then extended the lead with a penalty early in the second-half before converting Mills second try, which secured the try-scoring bonus-point for the hosts.
Dale almost recorded a memorable clean sheet following some heroic last-ditch defence but conceded a converted try in the final play of the game to complete the scoring, 30-7.
Next weekend, Mark Nelson's men will try and turn three consecutive wins into four when they face second-bottom Vale of Lune.
Dale was victorious in the reverse fixture, winning 26-0.
Based in Lancaster, Lune has lost their last six games with the latest defeat being a 75-10 away loss against Billingham.
