Good Attacking session before cup

This fixture versus a mixed aged Clitheroe side was dubbed a good warm up fixture before Didsbury Toc H Blacksticks Game but straight from the kick off the Rhinos were in clear control. After a fantastic selection of hard running from the forwards the ball was dispatched to Aidan Hopkinson who drove over the line for the first score. Further dominance from the pack with strong running from Ryan Leftly and Theo Balshaw eventually saw Jeremy Darrell in for a second score. The scoring continued as tries from George Allen, Jeremy Darrell and Joe Simpson putting the Rhinos 33-0 up in the first third.
The second third continued in the same fashion as the first with a quick bout of passing seeing Josh Howarth bolt over for a try. Clitheroe struggled to get out of their own 22 before Will Gledhill ripped the ball off the opposition for another try. The pressure from the Rhinos didn't seize and tries from Joe Simp[son and Josh Howarth saw the score reach 61-0 going into the final third.
The final third began rather slowly with several errors by both team. But the scoring got going again after Callum Wheelan kicked through to Josh Howarth who collected the ball and ran under the sticks. A quick steal from George Allen and a couple of strong runs was followed by another try for Aidan Hopkinson.
George Allen kept the score ticking over with a quick snipe before Joe Simpson crossed for his hat trick. A fantastic try starting from the Rhinos own 22 that started with Jeremy Darrell was finished accurately by Callum Wheelan to make the score at the end of the game 94-0.
My man of the match was Aiden Hopkinsonwho's powerful carries really put Rossendale on the front foot. I would highlight other stand out performers but the team was excellent collectively today and hopefully this strong team ethos will continue into next weeks game. Areas to work on for next week should be hitting the rucks quicker, keeping hold of the ball, improving pass quality and improving tackle success. However the game plan worked well today and the team improved defensively from last week.
Thanks Again to Kieran Allen for an honest and realistic view of the game.
I must thought myself also mention two other people for stand out performances, The first Oliver Molloy for the stylish way he kept distributing the ball out after making overlaps without being selfish.
Secondly i must mention Harry Todd who has made massive progress again putting in another big performance.
Most Importantly i asked for a nil and thanks to some last ditch tackles in the last few minutes we got just that
