'Dale U14s through to Quarter finals
The Dale lads managed to frustrate the Widnes outfit and the determination shown on the day proved them to be worthy winners in a classic cup tie.
Rossendale under 14's took on Widnes in the play off stages of the Blacksticks Blue challenge at Meadow head on Sunday and in a hard fought game came from behind to win 26-24 and therefore progress to the Quarter finals of the Plate stages of the competition.
Two tries each by joint men of the match Sam Lowthion and Joe Andrews with the latter scoring in the final few minutes of the game from a scrum near the visitors line to level the scores at 24-24. Sam Bedlow then slotted the conversion to take the game with his third conversion of the day. Connor Sharkey was outstanding in an improving player role.
This was a pulsating cup tie in doubt to the final whistle. All the lads put in a great team performance with out exception and the coaches would like to thank the whole team for their efforts.
