U14's falter against Blackburn

Some days you get a funny feeling...it starts in the warm up...all isn't quite right...you try to stir the passions, to get the focus...it comes, or does it come and go?

I think everyone knows this wasn't our finest hour. There were positives but we abandoned the game plan too readily in the second half. The first half was okay, we went in at half time with a score under our belts but somehow the second half got away from us.

That said, this was a tight game. 'Good to watch because both teams were evenly matched' some said, it takes all sorts! You got the feeling Blackburn were a little rusty after the break and losing a few players but they handled things better to their credit and one or two of their players stood out. The late try was a just reward for the lad who scored it, maybe it made the icing on the cake a bit thick but we can have no complaints.

The positive for 'dale were, again, the new players fitting in and working hard with some of the stalwarts doing what they always do but the 15 man performance from previous weeks wasn't there - sorry to say it. Back to training, back to getting the basics right with our feet on the ground and back to getting the Lancashire Cup campaign on track next week.
