What an opening game for the newly formed under14,s. the result is not a true reflection of the game ,because there were some good points in this defeat that the guys can build on .playing against a much more experianced side rossendale started well . the first scrum however was where it started to go a bit wrong .rossendale asserted there authrity on it , althougth the referee saw differant and told them they were pushing with too m uch vigour. maybe this had something to do with there coach being ref and there pack panicking and moaning. but alas it had the efffect they wanted and dale heads dipped and the scrum suffered. eccles took a grip and played some good rugby , quickly running up 33 points by half time. the dale lads came out strong in second half but a succession of in juries and bad descions against them saw heads drop and eccles begin to take control again. some plus points were the awesome tackleing of felix ellis the rossendale man of match , who played in new position of full bck and did well. the guys can take some heart out of a good team performance , but need to learn , when things are going against them dummy spitting is not the answer lol. all in all a very good effort and with trining and patience the results will come . dont forget guys we are now training on sat morning as well as sundays at earlier time of 10.am anybody who cannot make it plse let your coaches know.
