From the start Dale imposed there undoubted skill and determination and never allowed their opponenents a chance in this one sided contest. Four first half tries from Paul Hughes (2), Matthew Ringland, Jordan Lord, and three conversions from Will Sharratt put the result beyond doubt by half time. Nevertheless the homeside stuck to their task and never gave up. They had very little possession and when they had they squandered it.
Rossendale for their part were clinical with ball in hand. Some strong running and deft handling brought more tries from Hughes, Lord (2),and. Gaige Kinsella. Rossendale’s final two tries were the highlights with first, winger Jake Entwistle, finishing off a text book move and substitute second row Brad Armstrong romping over the try line from twenty meters. Sharratt completed the scoring with his boot and maintained the teams top of the table position.
