This Sunday's game meant a trip to the Wirral to play Oxton Parkonians, in Dale's first ever visit to their ground. Dale had been on the wrong end of a few defeats in recent games, so were looking to bounce back and get another win under their belts. And bounce back they did, with a big win over Parkonians in a good spirited game where Rossendale wanted it more. They worked as a team and applied some lessons from recent training sessions to ensure that they defended well whilst also creating, and taking, the opportunities to score.
With Dale scoring 7 tries in the first half, Parkonians could have given up, but they didn't, and seemed to come out more fired up in the second half, showing more desire, big tackles and at times were pushing towards Dale's try line. Throughout it all though, Dale's defence held firm, getting rapidly to the breakdown to compete for the ball and they reacting more quickly than the home side to any loose ball to win back possession and diffuse the attacks.
In attack, Rossendale continued to play as a team with support runners always available, creating chances and going on to score four more tries in the second half, ending the game Parkonians 0-65 Rossendale.
