The valley’s well drilled side were too much for the visitors and after the opening ten minutes were two tries to the good with left winger Jake Entwistle and centre Tom Bedlow going over. However the visitors centre three quarter scythed through the Rossendale defence too score an unconverted try.
This didn’t affect Dale as they proceeded to claim another try when centre Jack Bibby crashed over. The second period saw Rossendale use the slope to their advantage and proceed to run in a further eight tries. These came from Jordan Lord , debutant Max Chandler, Toby Dalton, Matt Jackson, Danny Schofield, with Bibby and Bedlow claiming their second. Will Sharratt showed no ill effects from his first team duties and kicked 7 conversions. All tries came from close range but reflected Rossendale’s superior strength and fitness. The side look set to challenge again for honours having moved up to the C division of the colts league.
This weekend they face what will be a much stiffer test at Preston Grasshoppers.
