Despite playing into the teeth of a strong wind in the first half, the valley lads still managed to impose themselves on their opponenents. Both the lineout and scrummage saw them have the upper hand, in particular the scrum where hooker Jamie Milton with the help of his forwards took countless balls against the head. These two facets of play enabled the valley side to get on top and it was only there poor decision making and loose handling which cost them opportunities to score. The home side opened the scoring with a penalty mid way through the half, but offered little else. A reminder by the coaching staff at half time of what decisions should be taken saw Rossendale finally take their chances. A brace of tries by the imposing Danny Rylance which were both converted by fly half Will Sharratt. With the wind in their favour Dale never came out of the Liverpool half. Further scores came from a Sharratt penalty and another close range try up the blindside by number 8 Leo Freschini.
This Sunday the side have a home fixture against Southport. Kick off at Marl Pits is 2.00pm
