The team manned up and took the ethos of "altogether now " to provide a thrilling contest and stake their claim of being a very formidable rugby side.
As the forwards took the name by the scruff of the neck , the shout from the fan base on the sides was please please me some more with the terrific work that took the team up and down the field with Warrington having very little solutions to the game plan.
It was only when we played away from that plan that we looked in need of a little help.
Warrington were very dangerous in the back line and the slightest of slips up could spell disaster which nearly showed when their speedy backs made several break aways and proved difficult to stop though Cloughy and Enty on his debut made some great last ditch tackles to prevent further scores.
Nonetheless it was frustrating our dominance in the forward game didn’t result in more scores and perhaps at the final whistle the score line of 24 –20 may have been a little flattering for Wire. It was a relief to hear the whistle though, a well ground out win against a decent side with plenty of good defensive and back line attacking qualities.
And many fine examples throughout the game of that old business styled manoeuvring in bringing better employees in from rival businesses…. Commonly referred to as ….. headhunting
The victory move us above Warrington in the table so we are now in second place and that with having played some of the higher end sides so far in the league. Can we carry that weight on into next weeks game against Stoke.
Sundays scorers were Danny Rylance, Cory Bridge, Leo Freschini and Zack Entwistle on his debut. Jak E Mann popping over two conversions.
Mellow yellow Wellsy was back on form again yesterday and took his customary ten minute rest period. Sometimes Masy lad it might be best to let it be, but there aint no knocking your commitment.
Credit to the three Junior Colts who played up today and made a good mark on the game.
