Sun over Rossendale!

After another weather enforced break it was good to feel some warmth in the sun and the U11's home pitch ("our grass") feeling surprisingly firm.
Tarleton were an unknown quantity plucked from the pages of the internet but proved worthy opponents in a game which became increasingly narrow and dominated by the maul and the turnover.
After a tough opening few minutes Tarleton scored but the first quarter went the way of our boys with tries from Shaun, Spencer and a pair from Seb. The second quarter went Rossy's way too with tries from Rory and Ryan (and one disallowed) against one for the visitors. As the game tightened further the boys failed to open things up as they had against Bury last month and the third quarter ended a try apiece, scored by Dominic for us, with the fourth lost from some restart errors to two unanswered tries from Tarleton.

At the end of the day the win came but we will need improvement to tackling, technique at the ruck (admittedly little practiced on the astro turf) and to get back to the passing, running, off-loading game to beat stronger opposition or do well in tournaments. Look for your team mates guys, you can't do it all on your own!

Star Player - Spencer: technically the best on the pitch, great vision, always working and distributing the ball.
Tackle Hero - Cameron: getting stuck in, getting stuck in and then getting stuck in again.
Try Hero - Sebastian: footwork and pace, could run round you in a phone box (but needs the ball...)
