Simpson Hat-Trick Buries Bury

BURY U11’S 19 V ROSSENDALE U11’S 47
Simpson Hat-trick Buries Bury
Rossendale made the trip to Bury trying to extend this seasons fine form. This match was going to be a good test for sterner things to come in the next few weeks.
Rossendale quickly got into their stride chasing the kick off and immediately putting Bury under pressure. It was from a poor clearance kick that again put pressure on Bury and after a few phases of well controlled Rugby Joe Simpson crashed over for the first of his three tries converted by Oliver Molloy.
From the restart Rossendale quickly got back on top through some strong running from Joe Saunders who sent Will Gledhill through for a fine try also converted by Molloy.
Bury just could not handle the power and the size of the Rossendale lads but really tried hard but if they were not getting drivenback by the forwards they were getting driven back by George Allen, Joe Saunders, Oliver Molloy or Natasha Smallridge.
When Bury were lucky enough to get their hands on the ball they were generally affected by the constant threat of George Allen stealing their ball and general disrupting their play.
Rossendale were now on top and further tries came from Oliver Molloy showing some great power and speed and another by Joe Simpson both converted by Molloy.
First Half performance was a great team effort and we produced a real solid base to which we could attack. When we attacked we attack with pace and direct running. Playing like this there is not many teams who could beat us
Half Time 0- 28
Rossendale make a series of changes at half time and it disrupted the fluency of the side but gave some less experienced players some good game time.
It was really pleasing to see the likes of Kieron Pearson, Nathan Tattersall, Ellis Murray and Jude Ferrie really give it their all when they came on.
Bury started the come back with a few good individual tries and started to make a game of it but this was mainly through a few missed tackles and handling errors.
But Rossendale were too strong with further Tries from Simpson, Derek Bulling and Shaun Smallridge with two converted by Callum Wheelan.
It was also another good performance by Ben Flanagan who also a solid game.
All in all it was another Great team performance enabling the team to go into next week’s festival in a confident mood. Lets not kid ourselves we could and should of put a much higher score on Bury and more importantly probably should have stopped them scoring. But nearly everyone got good game time and competition for places is starting to give healthy results.
What you lads must now learn to do is when you get picked or come on from the replacements bench is to make the most of your chance make it hard for Dizzey and Myself not to pick you.
A real good effort against a good side who got blown apart by the power and speed of your play.
Man of the Match today went to George Allen for being a complete and utter nuisance to every single player and managed two good kicks out of defence.
Most Improved Player went to Sean Campbell who ls starting to look more confident and with his pace will be on the scoring sheet very soon.
