In challenging conditions up on the top pitch the Under 8s came up against a well drilled and quick Tyldesley side. With the pitch cutting up quite badly the mudddy cold and windy conditions made for hard work for the lads but they battled through to the end. Footing was lost on a more than one occasion but the lads all got stuck into the task in hand and worked really hard, hunting down tags and tries.
Two x 20 min matches, 10 min each way were played with Tyldesley coming out on top in the first match and the Rossendale lads getting to grips with the conditions to pip the second one by one try.
It was great to see some of the work from training on Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings coming together, with some quick handling and great communication on display from the lads. Direct forward running when backed up with good support and simple passes when tagged was often rewarded with straightforward tries.
Man of the match was more of a Team of the match award this week with everyone contributing to a fantastic overall performance!
