As we got closer to Tyldesley the clouds got darker and the rain began to tumble from the sky, by the time our determined bunch of U8s had got kitted out and tag belts on it was lashing it down. I begun to wonder if snorkels and flippers would be required.
The lads battled hard against the ever worsening conditions and made a great attempt to put into practice the "running forward at all times" "quick sensible handling" and trying to use the space effectively mantra.
The little bits I saw in between trying to wipe the rain from my glasses looked impressive, with some solid try's being run in and tags ripped, despite the monsoon like conditions.
2 x 10min half's later and I think everyone was happy enough to admit that the rain had just edged it and we all beat a hasty retreat to the relative warmth of the club house
No idea on the score - but I think that turning out for 20min in those conditions everyone deserves a medal.
