Littlebrough Away

With the weather following us from the Vale of Lune another lovely Sunday morning watching U8s tag rugby in the sunshine was on offer at Littleborough.

Rossendale traveled with a squad of 8, Littleborough had a large squad of consisting of two teams

Coaches agreed to a 6 tag limit leading to a turnover and two 10 minute matches with six players a side.

Determined to get our restarts correct after some dodgy attempts at VoL some drills before kick off were quickly gone through to reinforce the importance of starting off in the correct manner - putting into practice the work from Tuesday night.

The lads did not disappoint with Alfie and Henry making some great forward advances from the start, before passing off to the advancing back line when tagged. With Ethan, George and Tom taking every opportunity to head for the try line backed up by Theo, Rory and Freddie, trys were scored at regular intervals. Defense was awesome as well with several Littleborough attacks running out of tags short of the try line resulting in a well deserved turn over for the guys.

After the two games were finished all the lads/lasses from Littleborough and Rossendale got together for a quick game that was definitely not bulldog but may have been a little like it - I think I can say great fun was had by all on this one...!

Player of the week this week was Henry - great attitude in training followed by some great running in both matches - Well done!

One other great point of note - the Littleborough coach complimented us for being a pleasure to referee - especially noting no back chat from the lads and respecting his decisions at all times.
