Eccles Away

On another lovely Sunday morning Rossendale U8s navigated the car park otherwise know as the M60 and headed for Eccles Rugby Union Football Club.

Rossendale traveled with a full compliment, likewise Eccles also had a healthy squad to select from.

Coaches agreed to a 6 tag limit leading to a turnover and two x 7 minutes each way matches with eight players a side.

Continuing on from last week the restarts were solid again with the key learning points from the previous weeks being put into practice. Tries were run in at regular intervals with some great direct running and support play from the lads. It was also good to see the defensive line improving with less bunching up on show.

With a large squad on Sunday it was also superb to see all the lads giving the team encouragement from the subs bench when it was their turn at being substitute - this positive encouraging attitude is great to see.

Player of the week this week was Ethan - As always his fantastic direct running and razor sharp side step left Eccles defenders clutching thin air in an attempt to get near his tags - Well done!

Unfortunately no game this week but lets keep focused as we head towards the Rochdale Tournament at the end of the month.
