From the very first play of the game, Bury gave Rossendale a wake-up call with a try straight from the kick-off, which set the scene for much of the first half. With the slope of the pitch in their favour, Bury ran in try after try leaving a half-time score of 0 - 35
So, with the slope in their favour, Rossendale started brightly, but just couldn't keep hold of the ball in contact, and Bury went off again to keep the scoring up. Rossendale's pride was restored by Nick with a blistering run down the wing to score Rossendale's first try. Nick added to the Rossendale score a few minutes later to keep a fairer balance to the game and create a second half score of 10 - 20.
Final score 10 - 55.
Final thoughts. The game was played in a great spirit all round, with Bury gracious in a comfortable victory and the Rossendale players never letting their heads drop. We should learn from this an go on to be stronger, faster and get into the winning ways. The pack of Isaac, Will, Niall (1st half) and Emily (2nd half) deserve a special mention with another strong performance in the scrum, Ben gets a mention for sheer tenacity with the ball and Player of the Match goes to Nick.
