Rossendale started the game well keeping Sale pinned in their own half for several minutes.
Tyler Johnson and Josh Beeken contributed much to this early territorial success, working hard to keep possession.
Rossendale’s scrummaging was particularly strong during this phase of play winning 4 out of 5 of the initial clashes.
Unfortunately the early pressure was not rewarded with any scores and The Tigers soon had their opportunity to attack. Despite some determined tackling from Ieuan Dwyfor-Jones on the touchline and Nathan Waddington in the centre Sale scored a well worked try. At Half time the hosts had added three more tries to their tally.
In the second half Rossendale continued to challenge well and had their fair share of possession but could not get on the scoreboard. Sale had the edge with their ball handling skills and despite three try saving tackles from Joe Bedlow, Rossendale’s Man of the Match, Sale Tigers ran in a further four tries.
Despite the result the under 10’s can be proud of their performance, with the combination of the severe weather and a mounting score line it would have been easy for heads to go down but the whole team competed hard until the final whistle.
