A penalty from the final kick of the game sealed a well deserved win for Rossendale over 2nd in National Three North Hull, a result which sees the visitors drop to 3rd but keeps the home side in the running for a top four spot.
Hull opened the scoring with a penalty from Josh Bragman but Rossendale replied in kind from the boot of Steve Nutt for 3-3 at half time.
The second half was all 'nip and tuck' with the Yorkshire side taking the lead with a penalty again by Bragman but from a line out five metres out a series of drives got Paddy Pole over for the first try, Nutt's conversion affording the home side a 10-6 lead.
It was short lived as Hull came back with a try from James Kirk, Bragman converted before hitting a penalty for a 10-16 lead to the Humbersiders.
Rossendale raised their game yet again and from a line out a break by Jamie Albinson opened up the defence for the centre to put the supporting Danny Collins in for a second, Nutt's conversion restoring the home side's lead by a single point.
A penalty from Bragman restored the visitors advantage leaving it to Nutt to snatch the win right at the end.
