With league leaders Huddersfield already ten points ahead focus is definitely on who will finish second and with Wirral just five points behind, every game will now become a 'five pointer' as Rossendale need to at least hold the differential if not improve on it if they are to make the play-off at the end of the season.
Stockport took the early points with a converted try but from then it was all Rossendale. And following a penalty try converted by Steve Nutt, Curtis Strong hit the line at pace to take an exquisite 'pop' pass from Lewis Singleton to power for the second . It was Singleton again who instigated the third sending Duncan Tout through the gap, the centre off loading to Fraser Lyndsay for a try close to the sticks, Nutt on hand with both conversions for 7-21 at the interval.
A quick penalty by Nutt brought a try for Dominic Moon and the bonus point with a break by Tout backed up by Singleton and George Peel getting Lyndsay in for the fifth, Nutt again slotting the extras in both cases.
An incursion by Strong set up the sixth for Peel and from a line out Jack Ward got Tout away for the seventh, this time James Bramhall delivering the extras.Tom Jones claimed the eighth from a drive over the line, Tout made it nine straight from the restart with Moon rounding the afternoon off with the tenth, all converted by Bramhall.
