The visitors began the better and were 0-14 up after just 14
minutes through a try from man of the match Tonci Buzov, the No8
forcing his way over after good pressure play by the Beverley
pack, converted by Phil Deboulay who also landed a penalty.
Rossendale came into the game with three penalties from James
Bramhall, two the result of forward pressure and the third an
off side after a break by Tom Bedlow had seen the centre tackled
short.
Unfortunately with both Bramhall and Johan Goosens down injured
the Yorkshire men took advantage to add a second try by Jack Lee
again converted by Deboulay and with both players having to
leave the field Rossendale were forced into changes.
Yet Rossendale fought back and from an attacking scrum and quick
hands across the line got Kane Bevan over, Tom Albinson's
conversion closing the half at 16-17.
With Rossendale struggling to find some rhythm Lee went in for
his second and with Rob Smith, with neat dart from the base of a
maul, taking the bonus point both converted by Deboulay,
Beverley were 16-31 up.
However Rossendale came again and from a catch and drive Leyton
Taylor was driven over.
