Conceding 29 points for no reply in the opening half, Rossendale
were left with far too much to do after the interval but still
managed to complete the half with a four try bonus point. t was
small consolation for a side who are still looking for their
first win of this season's campaign.
Two tries from James Ellar, a penalty try plus on from Rob
Norbury with Greg Wood slotting two conversions afforded the
home side a 29-0 lead.
In the second half Rossendale at last got their act together and
off a break by Sam Lothian quick recycling of the ball and good
hands across the line got Tom Bedlow over Steve Nutt added the
conversion and with Danny Collins going over from a catch and
drive five metres out Rossendale began to look 'the business'.
Ryan McKibbin again off a catch and drive added the third,
Nutt's conversion putting the visitors to within ten points but
a response from the Yorkshire side which brought a try for Luke
Norbury converted by Wood in reality ended any chance of a
Lancashire come back although McKibbin did managed to get over
to guarantee his side a bonus point after the ball had been
first moved wide from a line out then turned inside for the No8
to plunge his way over.
