A try from the final play of the game by Sandal denied
Rossendale what would have been a well deserved victory over
promotion chasing Sandal, a result that sees the Yorkshire take
over at the top of National Three North on a games
won/drawn/lost ratio.
It was a game of two halves with the home side benefiting from
the slope in the opening half.
Jamie Albinson opened the scoring following a break by Tom
Albison and some quick recycling of the ball. Tom Bedlow went in
for the second a neat darting run by Jamie Albinson from the
base of a ruck ten metres out and a deft pass putting the centre
over. Sam Lothian bought up the third a break right through the
centre of a ruck setting up the the opportunity for the
supporting Lothian for 15-0 at half time.
Sandal his back in the second half and levelled matters through
tries from Joe Bedford, Ralph Cartwright and Tom Cord converted
by Mark Pease.
Nutt edged Rossendale in front with a penalty but with the game
running into time added on, a try from James Ellar converted by
Pease sealed the win and the bonus point for the visitors
