But in dreadful conditions they were unable to make home advantage count and although both sides picked up a bonus point the Yorkshire side are now eight points clear of the Marl Pits outfit.

'Cleck' opened the scoring with a try from Rob Afoa but a neat box kick from behind a ruck by Jamie Albinson created the opportunity for Roger Dennisson to race through and win the chase to the line to level matters at 5-5

Lee Queenley regained the lead for the visitors with a try, the conversion by Ross Hayden affording a 5-12 lead with a penalty from Steve Nutt closing the half with Rossendale trailing 8-12.

A try in the second period by Josh White extended the advantage but with Rossendale forcing a penalty at the five metre scrum
converted by Nutt, the home side were just two points adrift.

A great steal in the line out by Paddy Pole and a high kick ahead from the base from Albinson was taken by Anthony Bingham,
the winger outpacing the defence from half way to give his side the lead for the first time in the game.

Unfortunately it was not enough as Cleckheaton got Hayden over for a third try to sneak the win.
