Injury hit before the start with three of their pack unavailable
and with Jamie Albinson, Danny Collins and Alex Isherwood having
to leave the field also injured Rossendale were always going to
be up against and so it proved as YM took control after the
interval to add a further 22 points.
Huddersfield YM took the early lead with a try from Mark
Whitehead converted by Gavin Stead.
A catch and drive brought a try for Rossendale, Ryan McKibbin
ploughing his way over but a penalty from Stead closed the half
with the home side 10-5 ahead.
In the second half a break by Anthony Bingham followed by a kick
ahead brought a second try for McKibbin, the No8 first there to
the touch down to level the scores at 10-10.
Unfortunately with both Collins and Isherwood joining Albinson,
who had gone off just before half time, on the sidelines
Rossendale had to re-organise with everyone on from the bench.
They were game enough but in the end were under-powered allowing
the opposition to run in tries through Adam Ryder and Simon
Wilson plus a penalty try with Stead adding a further seven
points from two conversions and a penalty.
