Already denuded of Danny Collins, Steve Nutt and Anthony
Bingham, Rossendale were up against IT from the start but losing
to injury James Watt , Alex Isherwood and James Bramhall in the
first half joined by Danny Harrison mid-way through the second,
compounded matters with the inevitable result against a side who
are still in with a chance of promotion come the end of the
season.
However, despite the scoreline the Rossendale youngsters made a
'fair fist' of of it right up to the final whistle with the
final Tigers try adding perhaps an unnecessary gloss on the
final outcome.
Rossendale started well with a try from Ryan McKibbin pealing
off after a catch and drive. James Bramhall added the conversion
with a later penalty affording the visitors at 0-10 lead.
Tigers hit back with a tries from Pete Swatkins converted by
Tom Outram and Tom Coates to close the half 12-10 ahead.
In the second half with Watts, Isherwood and Bramhall already
off and the visitors forced to do some re-oganising, Tigers took
full advantage and extended their lead with tries from Stephan
Desounis converted by Outram and Henry Packhard and with
Harrison now off Mark Ireland sealed the win with a fifth try
also converted by Outram.
