Following a whole day of rain in the valley it was a relief to find the hallowed turf of the 1st XV pitch in good shape for the U13's friendly against new (to us) opposition in the shape of Trafford MV. Unfortunately the away side were slightly short on numbers but for a second match running and showing great spirit of fair play several of our lads swapped shirts over and helped out to make a meaningful game and keep the numbers right.
The score doesn't do justice to some dogged play from the visitors in the second half especially as we started to mix and match players and positions. White line fever also started to creep in for us so, many positives with the newer players in the squad showing well but work to do on game management and using our team mates for some. Also some improved tackling technique from some of our players was great to see.
Keep it up guys, there will be tougher matches, but congratulations on playing in the spirit of the game.
