U13's tough win vs Vale of Lune

The U13's took on the ever strong Vale of Lune in a home friendly which had come very soon after a narrow Cup defeat in Lancaster in September with a determination not to let the game slip again.
Both teams are evenly matched and enjoy the competition but it was Rossendale who forged the early lead to run in three tries to one ahead at half time.
As with the previous fixture Vale came back strongly in the second half pinning our boys back in their half in the deepening mud to tie the scores mid way through the period. But with the side holding out this time and some impressive rucking and mid field defence Rossendale pulled clear to take a hard fought win which all watching agreed was a cracking game played in great spirit.
Four tries for the home side became five at the final whistle but with the sad sight of Marcus rushed off to hospital with a broken wrist done in the act of scoring! We all wish him a speedy recovery and our other casualties not from the game itself.
