On a very bright morning the U13's brought their A-game back to the Cup against a spirited Tarleton team.
Pleasingly the boys wen for it from the kick-off with deft touches and instinctive driving play bringing a quality try in the second minute. This was rapidly followed by more driving running for a second. Four tries in four minutes in a sublime spell of aggressive running, drawing and passing by the half backs saw the fixture go Rossendale's way.
Credit to Tarleton who had made the long trip and who wanted to have a full morning run out as they carried on after the break with some good play and nice touches of their own. The Rossendale team redoubled their efforts, however, the line speed increased and all stuck to their game rather than going off in search of individual glory - very pleasing for the coaches to see.
At the end Rossendale ran out comfortable winners but a clean sheet and some varied plays made for an entertaining game on a very wet pitch and, unlike other games this season, the boys didn't allow the opposition back into the game for any period.
Well done, keep it up. Thanks, as always, to the parents for bringing the lads along and for your continued support and appreciation of the opposition.
