After an Easter break from training, school sports and the addition of significant amounts of chocolate the U13's turned in a sparkling result against a mighty Bolton side who many felt would have seen us off in past seasons.
The warm up kept focus on finding the gaps not the big Bolton side who were doing their own routines.
A few moments of stalemate saw Rossendale strike first and the tone was set for the morning. Three tries by half time could have been more if passes had stuck but the invention of the back line and the excellent work of our small, fit pack was joyful.
Bolton made changes at half time but 10 minutes into the second half the Cup fixture was taken. The match resumed as a friendly with the home team deservedly scoring twice through some tidy forward play. Our attack continued though right to the final whistle for a good result to end our mixed bag of a Cup season.
Thanks to Bolton for being gracious hosts and, as usual, to our parents for making the trip and offering the boys quality support.
