Collaboration Session Welcomed

Whilst contemplating the friendly we felt the players might benefit from a collaborative training session, rather than an 'us vs them' game first session back.

Mixing up the teams and separating a field for a forwards’ drill and then more strategic thinking games seemed to prove popular. Our shape and bunching still a problem and evidence again of our individual player mentality, however we hope sessions like this might encourage more discipline in shape and more, and more, team work from our players in particular.

We collaborated with the Segley Coaching staff earlier in the week and had a vague understanding of the few things we might get them doing, but, would build on this on the day given a better idea of numbers and conditions once the teams assembled. I feel the session went well, there was some good feedback from the coaches and players too. I will try and give more notice when we have agreed these sessions and I hope we can collaborate much more on training sessions in the future with Segley Park. Our match schedule this second half of the year has lots of back to back training slots so mixing this up with a collaborated effort seems a worthwhile exercise to keep the players focussed and interested.

We have some possible other games coming up later in Feb (potentially long distance away fixture) but I am firming up plans now with the club and will confirm plans and request availability over the next few days.

Home Training this coming Sunday (Possibly Segley Park collaboration again too if we can agree with the club).
