Dukinfield U12s 54 - 7 Rossendale U12s

It was the first game of the season for the mixed U12/U11 team, and the first ever game for Saul Spence-Hill, Max Hussey, Ryan Morgan, Alex Rawcliffe and Jordan Hill. It was a heavy slow pitch at Dukinfield that contributed to the defeat 8 tries and 7 conversions to 1 try from Henry Higgins and a conversion from Kyle Entwistle. The team played well, particularly in the second half against a physically larger side that has been established and playing together for over a season. One of the coaches, Jim Rylance, said “the players gave a good performance considering their inexperience. We didn’t fully exploit our strengths up front but it has given us something to build on. The players played with heart and spirit and enjoyed the game despite the score line” The coaches are looking forward to building on a good start and were particularly pleased with the performances of Henry Higgins, Nick Lewis and Ryan Morgan. They are sure that the 14 strong team will gel together over the coming games and produce some good rugby.
