Artic Like Conditions Could not stop young Stags

Rossendale Stags U12’s v Colne & Nelson U12’s
Sunday 22nd Feb.
With just one competitive game in the last 3 months, this game couldn’t have come soon enough. After weeks of hard training and commitment twice a week in all sorts of weather, it was game time a last with a lot of nervous lads as Colne and Nelson had previously won 10 tries to 1 in their last encounter.
The game started well for Rossendale scoring a try in the first 2 minutes of the game, this settled the lads down with some fine tackling, rucking and running rugby and by half-time Rossendale where 4 tries up to nil.
With a quick half-time break as blizzard like conditions descended on Marl Pitts the game progressed, this didn’t dampen Rossendale’s spirit as they continued to play good aggressive, running rugby scoring another 5 tries to 1, this was a good performance by the lads in the wintery conditions and all of the hard work in training is now beginning to show.
For all of the dedicated supporters who braved the conditions they were treated to a good game of rugby.
This was a good team performance from all of the squad, with a special mention to Declan Warmsley and Jacob playing for Clone & Nelson in the later stages of the game. (Declan scored a great try against Rossendale !!!!!)
Lets hope that Rossendale can carry on the good work for the game next week.

Colne & Nelson Match Report
Under 12s vs Rossendale
A great performance off our lads today against a much larger and physical Rossendale outfit resulting in a narrow defeat.
The weather played the biggest part of the game with snow and hale battering the lads who took in there stride to put in 110%.
Well done to all on showing a lot of courage and heart!!!
