In a rare three way triangular match Dale welcomed Aldwinians & Glossop to a sunny, if not soggy under foot (to say the least) Rossendale.
Match 1 - Rossendale Vs Glossop
Rossendale came out of the blocks like a house on fire, led by captain of the day Rowan who was making a menace of himself at the breakdown with his rucking, jackeling and on the attack breaking the gain line and into the clear on several occasions. This spurred the rest of the lads on with them showing commitment in the tackles, rucks and a steel in defence. The forwards rose to the challenge laid down by Rowan with them driving the ball up the middle creating yards at will led by Vinny and Taylor.
Highlight of the match - Tod taking an impromptu swim in the pool on the side-lines that had been created by the Rossendale weather.
Final Score - Rossendale 40 v 0 Glossop

Match 2 - Rossendale Vs Aldwinians
Rossendale took a breather whilst Glossop and Aldwinians took part in a hard fought encounter before moving onto the final match of the day against Aldwinians.
This match was a very different affair to the first match with neither side taking a backward step and no quarter given. Tactics became more apparent as both sides tried to gain a downfield advantage by peppering each other with high balls and long kicks though, this didn't phase Jason at full back who ate these up all day long doing his best impersonation of Mike Brown. As the game wore on Rossendale came more into the match with Michael tenacious at scrum half directing play, kicking for position & harassing the opposition, Tod cutting through the middle with surging runs and Ryan (borrowed from the U11's - please can we borrow you every week!) barnstorming down the wing. The clock ticked into the final minutes and the temperature started to rise on both sides but Rossendale managed to score a couple of try’s to put daylight between themselves and a resilient Aldwinians side to run out eventual winners.
Highlight of the match – Taylor driving over the line for his first Rossendale try whilst carrying three of the opposition on his back.
Final score - Rossendale 20 vs 0 Aldwinians
