A Rossendale first for the second team on Saturday afternoon when the seconds took on the Wirral based team Anselmians in their first recorded game against each other .
Toby Cole got the scoring underway with an early try followed by an AJ Potgieter conversion. It wasn't to be a walk over however as Anselmians responded soon after with a converted try of their own . The scores remained level at 7-7 until half time with Rossendale perhaps guilty of playing down to their visitors level instead of setting the benchmark.
The second half was a slightly different story with tries by AJ Potgieter a minute after the break followed on by further tries from Nuri Stoner and that man go Johnny go go go Dutton.AJ added three further conversions and a penalty goal to end the game with a final score of 31-7 and a healthy league bonus point for scoring 4 tries .
An approached was made for comments and responses in relation to talking points of the game but the question was responded with "Que?" Which was quite astonishing really , not only had the individual not understood the question but its not often you find a Spanish only speaking waiter on a distant greek island in the far flung reaches of the Aegean! Yammas.
