Big win for Rossendale Seconds

Despite a much changed side and some late withdrawals on Saturday morning the Second team of Rossendale Rufc still managed to turn out a strong squad and continue the current winning streak in fine fashion. In previous years against the visitors Lymm the games have been fairly high scoring but without much margin between the sides. Saturdays game saw Dale give no quarter this time round and they started and finished strongly

First half tries from Aj Potgieter, a brace for Toby Cole and Curtis Strong were added to by AJ kicking two conversions for a 24 -6 half time lead. So not only having a comfortable lead at half time but the lads had prevented Lymm from scoring a try and added a bonus point with 4 tries already in the game.
The second half was much the same with Rossendale firing out of the blocks. Tries from Matt Jackson , AJ and two overdue deserved tries for James Willetts with three more added conversions from that man AJ saw Rossendale complete the game at 50 -6 thus keeping Lymm from scoring any second half points. Great defence.
A couple were approached for their observations on the game but they were enjoying an ouzo and kalamari to much to reply.
The win moves Rossendale into fourth place in the league . An excellent achievement given the quality of opposition in the Premier league .
