A day to REMEMBER and reflect.

Good evening everyone
Where should I start with Sunday’s game.

Let me give you some positives - we rallied the troops and managed 17 willing players for what was tabled as a tough game on paper.
Picked in the first round against a team seeded two divisions higher who are currently in second place and who confirmed early in the week and travelled with 23 willing players. This only made it more of a challenge for our guys who stood together from the two minutes silence right through to the final whistle and showed traits of the great albatross - (google is a wicked tool - it’s the future) loyalty, stamina, commitment, ability and friendship which are key factors even against the teams who simply only had the squad numbers on the day which made a difference. I personally think if we had equal numbers it would have been a day to REMEMBER in more ways than one.

The referee made some pleasing comments in passing at the end saying we showed great spirit and character, we dominated every scrum and were very fierce in the attacking play which resulted in at least 3 players coming off with related injuries as a direct result of our intensity in this fixture. To quote Facebook comments from yesterday - “they underestimated the boys from Rossendale.”

If you all agree, perhaps we should have got more from this game than the score line suggests but to be honest not having a competitive game for 3 weeks makes a huge difference to fitness and game management.

Reflecting back - you did us proud again and focus is now on for Wednesday night training with Bryn, Danny, Ian and co.
