Good evening everyone. Sunday's game - what can I say.
Bolton turned up with a squad of 20 and looked eager and focused on the task at hand. The visitors took early initiative and scored the first of the points with some good ball possession and skill. Rossendale did not make the most of the slope in the first half only crossing over for one score from Fin Wilby and converted by Rowan Hopkinson. The visitors took the lead once again before half time which saw a couple of yellow cards (both teams) for high tackles, and to be honest on any other day could have had a harsher punishment enforced.
The second half started as the first half finished with a yellow card for high tackle from Tyler Johnson. Bolton began pressing and gaining more points but Rossendale seemed to have a bit more spirit and second wind after the re start however we sustained some injuries to key players which made the task that little bit more difficult. Another score from Fin gave us some hope but two very late tries from Bolton secured the points for the away team (which came from two bad referring decisions - sour grapes not?)
Overall general verdict - should have stayed in and eaten Bakewell Tarts (Dales favourite dessert I believe) instead of chasing girls round the pubs of Burnley. Learn from your mistakes and come back on Wednesday focused and charged up for the session.
