Fresh from a couple of tournaments where luck had counted against them the U11's were ready for a late arranged home fixture against Aldwinians...in true Rossendale fashion the teams were greeted with sleet and light snow to mark the end of a season dictated by the weather.
The first quarter saw the boys run in three tries without answer and to please the shivering home crowd. However, the second saw a reverse with one unanswered Aldwinians score as we snoozed. After brief words "that's the worst we've ever seen you play...sort it out!" from the coaches the team picked itself up to run in eight more tries in the third and fourth quarters and look very good indeed.
Tackle hero - Spencer playing at full back as if born there cut the no.14 in half.
Try hero - Ryan, welcome back, with a hat trick.
Man of the Match - Marcus who has built on both tournaments and deserves the prize as a burgeoning scrum half.
And...a special thank you to parents for sticking with it all year, your support is essential. And...sorry, Mrs Yates, I lost the carefully made record of the match before I got home.
Rochdale tournament next week but God only knows on which day.
